The National reports that Sesame Street will be coming to the UAE on a “science mission.”
The Abu Dhabi-based paper says:
Live shows performed by well-loved characters such as Elmo, Bert and Ernie will be combined with a host of other activities, including robotics and astronomy, as part of the ‘Reach for the Sky’ event, which will run through the holy month of Ramadan in the capital.
That’s wonderful; I support science; I love science; my six-and-three-quarters-year-old (nearly seven!) wants to be a scientist.
But I even more desperately want an event like this to promote reading. Perhaps it could be modeled on this Curious George campaign, with 3alam Simsim (Sesame Street) characters.
But anyhow, if you’re in the Emirates:
Reach for the Sky activities will run nightly at Marina Mall, Abu Dhabi, from August 12.
