Taghreed Najjar on the Importance of Pretend Play

This week, Taghreed Najjar blogs over at Al-Salwa books about the importance of pretend play. (And the same blog, in Arabic.) This is on the occasion of the release of her new book, أي شيء, which she describes thus:

A new story from the (Goldfish Series) illustrated by Nadine Kaadan. “Anything” tells the story of two kids Samar and Rami, who spend a fun afternoon play acting and are delighted when their mothers return from shopping with a surprise that they bring along. (Lift the flap to see what the surprise is!)

A lift-the-flap book with a little boy named Rami in it! Who could ask for more? (Not my two-and-a-half-year-old, methinks.)
