Deadline Extension: Reading Here, There & Everywhere Award |

Publishers! In the hubbub over the Etisalat award, did you forget about “Reading Here, There, & Everywhere”? Because the Anna Lindh Foundation must not have gotten your submission yet, as they’re extending their deadline:

The deadline for receiving entries for the “Reading Here, There & Everywhere” Regional Award has been extended to November, 10th 2010. Only publishers of children’s books in Egypt, Jordan, Palestine, Lebanon and Syria are invited to submit their books in Arabic language and get the opportunity to be recognized at the national and regional level.

The brand-new award aims to support and encourage the publication of high quality non-translated Arabic children’s books.

Winners will be honored in a public ceremony, and winning authors and illustrators will receive 1,000 Euros each, while publishers also get 2,000 Euros. That’s not huge, compared with the Etisalat prize, but the prize also includes a regional promotion campaign for the book (or books?).
